The State Museum of the History of the Gulag moved to a new building with a small area in 2015. The museum's direction proposed to arrange a Garden of Remembrance on the territory, dedicated to the victims of Stalin's terror. The garden has several zones: a birch forest with memorial signs swaying in the wind; a platform for lectures and film screenings; an area of young trees that will be planted by schoolchildren. Everyone will be able to install a memorial sign in the birch forest, perpetuating the memory of relatives - victims of repression.
